I have a pot still from brewhaus, and I'm not clear on how far to push the bottom of the thermometer into the column. Should the line for zero be equal to the top of the column? It slides throgh the hole in the top of the bung, but, as I've said, I'm not sure how deep to set it into my column. Thanks for any help.

I don't know what the rule is but I thought the thermometer should be just above the cooling tubes on the reflux and close as you can get to the outlet to the condenser on the pot rig.

You don't need a thermometer on a Pot Still. You should run it by taste, smell and feel.........
