is there any tricks to measuring 2oz of glucose....that stuff is so thick...i thought there might be a trick of working with it ??? thanks, scott

Take the lid off of the jar and put it in the microwave for a minute or so. That will soften it to where it is much easier to work with.

If you put it in the microwave for a minute or so, you will have a melted jar along with the glucose. It's much better to place the jar in a pot or very hot water for a few minutes. I use 2oz of glucose to every 5th and it is so much better than glycerine ,which leaves a metallic aftertaste,. The easiest way I've found so far is to take the jar of glucose and warm it up in hot water. Then I take a funnel and pour it into the empty glycerine bottle. Now when I get ready to make a fifth, I just take the cap off and squeeze two ounces into a 3oz Dixie paper bathroom cup. You don't have to keep reheating it all the time. It's so much easier to squeeze the glucose from the paper cup and discard it rather than try to scrape the glucose off a utensil. This is just my way, there may be better ways but I've not found one yet. Good Luck!

I forgot to mention in my last post and I don't know how to edit it, that with glucose, the easiest way to blend it is to pour it into a blender with some of of you spirits and essence. Then pour that into your bottle. Fill it up the rest of the way with spirits and shake well. Your glucose is blended very nicely by doing it this way. I may be going a little far with this so forgive me if I gave you more information than you wanted or needed. Just trying to be of help. Regards, Tom

glucose does make your product smoother no doubt about it...the only problem is... i like to put my vodka in the freezer and when you do that with glucose added to the product, the vodka turns cloudy !!! any solutions other then NO FREEZER ??

Obtain a higher-quality spirit, re-run your vodka, or dilute to 80 proof and charcoal filter.
