They arrest peeps for setting it up and distilling w/o registration or a permit and then selling the product. And to me, it's more than just the tax thing, it's also a health thing too. While it seems repulsive to us to sell tainted or poorly made spirit, a crimnal could care less and is only about money and volume. |

Exactly my friend, and being illegal also tends to drive the criminal enterprise. They don't want home distilling to be legalized because in their minds, it would take away their income which is nothing but pure greed. They even voted against the 21st amendment (it repealed prohibition) because of their greed. This mentality gives us a bad name and it makes our cause more difficult as well.
