Have 62 qt stainless steel boiler want to go to electric instead of gas heat, need advice on one or two elements, wattage, where to place and thermostate control.

"I use an 8 gallon boiler and I have 1 element installed, I also use 110 watt receptical ( its a 30 amp circut) with that setup I also use a router speed controller to control the power to the water heating element. I also used this same setup on a 15 gallon boiler and it seems to work just fine. I use the smaller boiler now almost exclusivley because I only do 5 gallon washes.
Now as to the thermostat control -- you cant use a thermostat control, it sounds like you want to use the thermo control off a water heater and that wont work because it cycles, the proper way to make that setup is just as I described it.
If you want two elements thats fine but one will work and as to the placement low in the boiler is best, there is no perfect spot. If you want to use two thats not wrong either but one will work. If you search the forum there has been lots of discussion on this topic and all the angles have been discussed so do a little searching and good luck."
