Here's the TTB's requirements to obtain either an AFP (alcohol fuel producer) or DSP (distilled spirits producer) fir the AFP : http://www.ttb.gov/ponl/ponl-docs/RDlink29.htm ^ This is really easy to get and if the online website is working properly, it shouldn't take more than 2 to 3 weeks. That's how long it took for mine to go through using the online application. Just highlight the weblink I post and select copy and paste this link into your web browser. Now for the DSP (distilled spirits producer) : http://www.ttb.gov/ponl/ponl-docs/RDlink25.htm ^ Be advised that they have 3 listings availible for a DSP. The first is DSP: Beverage which is drinking alcohol. The second is DSP: Industrial (vinegar falls into this category) and then there's DSP: Industrial/Beverage which is both industrial grade alcohol and drinking alcohol. Here's a link to there applications index: http://www.ttb.gov/applications/index.shtml This is the TTB's distilled spirits FAQ page which includes a conversion chart (liters to quarts etc.) and a formula for calculating proof gallons: http://www.ttb.gov/spirits/faq.shtml The TTB was extremely helpful and extremely nice in talking me through the process when I applied for an AFP about a year ago. The VABC hasn't been too bad either. Hopefully I'll be a licensed micro distiller here pretty soon.
