"Just finishing off my first spirit rum!!! BigGrin
I can say a couple of things about it.
1/ It takes a lot longer than the stripping runs and
2/ You end up with a crap load of booze!!!! Cool
Ended up stripping 5 X 5 gallon washes (2 generations) and after diluting it down to fill my boiler I ended up with about 6 gallons of 40% ABV to run.
After doing my spirit run I ended up with 13 liters of 60% ABV after diluting. I now have 7 liters sitting on medium toasted oak chips and 6 liters sitting on dark toasted oak chips.

Now I just need to leave it alone for a while. Cursing
Luckily I'm heading off on vacation for 6 weeks so it can sit while I'm gone.

Got 1.5L of heads and am currently still collecting tails.

Nice job Drifter. Good things come to those who wait. I'm glad you got this done before you went away. There may have not been much left after 6 weeks if you were around. haha What's next on the menu? I have to try to leave this alone for a while.

Hope you enjoy Fla.

"What's next you ask?
Why more rum of course!!!! BigGrin
I have 50L of Gen3 and 25L of Gen2 wash perking away right now.
Hopefully get it stripped and put another 75L on before I leave.

Doing the distilling will be much easier when it's winter here.
I now have 2 30 gallon plastic drums I can use for cooling water.
I fill them 1/3 full of water and leave them out on the porch and when I'm ready to run I just bring it inside and top up with water.
The big slug of ice lasts a full 10 hours. Much easier than filling containers and putting them in the freezer.

I'm also now a certified pirate as I got my Brewhaus Parrot in the mail today.

I completely agree! Good job! I'm a couple of 2 dollar items to do my first ferment. I wish you didn't have to work today. I'd get it going now! Keep up the good work drifter!
