Ok gunna start to run my FIRST run ever a sugar wash 10 gall. Do I heat it up fast and hot (propane ) till what temp and then turn it down. And how do I make the paste for the cap and what consistency should it be. Thank you guys

And I forgot its a 25 gallon boiler can I just run 10-15 gallons in her sorry for all the dumb questions.

"Not a dumb ? at all....I hope you get this in time, yes you can run any amount you like, if you use an internal element then make sure it's covered with liquid and if it's just gas well go with it. As far as how fast to heat up -- well I go as fast I can to get up to cooking temp you can't really hurt anything. Just dont let it get away from you cause it will run up pretty quick once it's up there a ways. It's not the end of the world if it does get away it just takes time to cool off enough to find your cooking temp again. To the paste issue - I just use flour and water and make it kinda stiff so it's plyable in your hand, no real secret to it, just make it workable. The old --- my grandpappy did it this way so it must be the only way - well no worries just make it workable and dont fret over it, niether is wrong just different."
