Hey Rodger,

I have operated mine over a year now and am very happy. It took me over 3 months in my adverse weather situations to start getting excellent results. I first learned that distilling outdoors with propane ,the only way to go for this big column, it had to be totally insulated. then after much research and thinking, I took an old beer keg and ordered from brewhaus an adopter and now do 3 stripping runs, storeing the distillate with a touch of baking soda ,quarter pound each run, while setting. Then I combine the stripping runs, and faints and water to about 13.5 gal. and add a handfull more of baking soda, and a handful of canning salt and then distill at medium speed distillialtion= about 8hours light up tpo finish- depending on tails collection depth. The cuts are much more sharp, definative and clear. The energy saveing very quikly pays for the extra expenses, and the time is at least cut in half. The quality is IMHO more than can be achieved with single distillation and carbon filtering. The most important lesson whichever boiler I used was to insulate the column, do stripping runs and redistill. I also allow my wash to totally clear.

I wouldn't trade my HC unit for a 1,000 gal. of Stolii.

Well meybe I would, I would buy another column and redistill the Stoli!

Hopeing you the very best luck and enjoyment with your new experiance. You have an excellent piece of eq. to start out with.
