So how does that Brita work out for you? How about taking one more photo of the top of yur still without the towel on it. In particular I'm trying to see how you are doing your cooling set up. Also what ya got going in those carboys?? Cheers!

Rank: Guest Groups: Guests Joined: 2/10/2002(UTC) Posts: 5,254		sorry, the carboys have a corn sugar mash that im clearing...im gonna distill it twice thru a pot still ,re-arrange the hoses on my reflux system and no stuffing in the column will turn it in to a simple pot still,and then age in a charred white oak keg, and hopefully end up with some nice whiskey...what do you think...will that make whiskey???

Won't be a sour mash unless you put back into the fermenter with old mash xxx, but it will make a good product for sure. Just frequently check and sample during aging to take off the oak right before it gets woody. ,You can always go back and dilute with raw dog to get a good flavour if u go too long, Judging by your previous posts and setup I'm sure you already know that. I bet it will be good, sweet and bon apetit. I'm quite sure it will be a hell of a lot better than my raw cane sugar shine white dog drippin's

Rank: Guest Groups: Guests Joined: 2/10/2002(UTC) Posts: 5,254		oh i see the pic now, excuse me....i use the sink as a cooler...i keep the water cool by using jugs of frozen water...the 2 hoses coming out of the sink are connected to 2 pumps and a Y valve...i alternate them every other run....then they go up over a paper towel holder ,i know that it looks like a filter LOL, and into the tower...the paper towel holder does nothing but support the hose...i purchased the 2 pumps at a store called NORTHERN TOOL...lots of imported stuff for $18 bucks each....i hope this answers your question thanks, scott from texas
