1.5 cups sugar--1.5 cups brown sugar--2 cups water--1/2 cup of instant coffee--2 tbsp vanilla and 1 vanilla bean---1.5 cups vodka

mix sugar water and coffee--- simmer to dissolve sugar--- completely cool and add the rest of the ingredients-- let age for at least 2 weeks

i didn't have a vanilla bean so i added 1 more tablespoon of vanilla

I make a faux kahlua by brewing a 12 cup pot of coffee and add 2 lbs of brown sugar which gets dissolved in the hot coffee, let it cool then add 5 tbsp of vanilla extract and a qt of high proof neutral. Makes a good kahlua and cream. My thinking is the vanilla bean is stronger than the extract
