Hey Everyone ,anyone...,
Long time reader, first time writer here.
I've got two five gallon buckets for wash that have worked in the recent past. But now I have 10 gallons of dead wash. The recipe is simple - 15 pounds of dextrose, 4 gallons of water, 2 packets of EC-1118, and yeast nutrient. I always pitch at 80F. Both buckets get thoroughly cleaned after use. The only thing I did differently this time was to use .5 ounces more of citric acid in each bucket and to put both outside in 60F degrees before the airlocks showed any signs of life.
That was almost three days ago.
Since then I have tried stirring. Reheating aand replacing a gallon to up the temperature. Warming a gallon and pitching in another packet of yeast into that ,and the new yeast didn't start in that either..., Adding four Flinstone's vitamins ,from my forum readings, But all to no avail.
Halp!
Where does one get potassium nitrate?
Am I forgetting the resurrection incantations?
Does one occasionally have to toss a wash?
All ideas welcome!
Halp!
And TERRIFIC forum by the way!
Thanks,
PJ Lily
