Hi!
I make botanical tinctures by soaking the material in 150-190 Proof grain alcohol, either Everclear or Gem Clear.
I'd like to distill my own grain, but I'm not sure if I can get 190 Proof, or higher, from a home system, is that possible? In particular, with one of the Easy Still systems I see here.
I'm sorry if this has already been answered, but I couldn't find it!
Thanks for any help!

Hello Tinc Man, It is possible for someone at home to get very close to 190 proof. I've done it with the set-up I have. However an Easy Still won't do it. I have a PSII HC with copper in the tower and routinely get between 93 and 95%. Easy stills are not going to get close to that. The best I've gotten from my Easy Still is 140 proof on the third distillation of a wash. I did not try a fourth. Good luck.
