After collecting 170 proof and then adding water to reduce it to 80 proof, the product is slightly hazy looking, what would the reason for this? RCM

It means (If not tails, as DD has said) that the water u used had minerals in it. Also, after you mix and shake it well, give it some time to settle - like 5 mins and then see :) |

I concur with the other posters......this is what I do. After running your unit and making your cuts and tossing all the unwanted stuff out, I add all the keepers to one jug and add water in small quantities with those small bottle's of water, then stir and test the proof again. I'm pretty sure they are all put through reverse osmosis for purity and cleanliness. If it's still too high add a little more stir and recheck until you are at the proof you are after. I'm sure there are other ways but try this until you figure out what works best for you.
