Hi! So I'm new to the forum and new to the art of distilling. I am looking to start my first mash today, after spending the last few weeks accumulating the items necessary for making my first batch. I want to make a good flavored rye whiskey with 5 gal mash using rye, malted barley, and malted rye. The one thing I am still trying to figure out is the pounds of each to include in the mash. I have read 80%, 15%, 5% but curious what others think.

Welcome! Since you are just starting out I would start with a tried and true recipe like ujssm. If you like the rye just add some to it. Good luck
