Cracked corn is corn that has been busted or cracked open. you should be able to get it at a feed store or som grocrey stores sell it. Its in the animal food section.

Anonymous...unless there is something I don't know about , you can't make shine out of what you have , you need to run it through a pot still , run slow , where you will get peach brandy , apricot wine will produce apricot brandy , the still you can buy from this site !

I made pineapple wine years ago. I put 4 litres in a demijohn on a heat tray, came back next day to find it violently fermenting with lots of the pulp blown out the top through the airlock! there was a sticky ring left on the floor. make sure you have lots of head space. Turned out nice. I wouldnt waste good pineapple juice on a wash. I have made lovely pineapple liquer with liquidised fresh pineapple left to steep in 95% treated spirit which I then strained off after a week.

I have a still I have made 17 runs so far with just turbo yeast and sugar. I don't have any knowlege of fermenting fruit. I don't know what a demijohn is. You did this with no yeast?

I don't know why my last message got cut but I was attempting to write that As much as a womans soap opra channel that 'Anyone every tried to ferment pineapples?' became, I have stated a batch of pineapples. Acid leveI was a bit high ,pH 3.6,and my brew shop is closed for 2 days. Where do I get Calcium Carb quickly? Local chem. houses only sell wholesale. I will keep you

Don, pineapple juice works great I've done it many times. However, you need the juice, pulp-free. If not, you'll get alcohol alright but it'll taste like rotten fruit and no way to fix it. I speak from experience. It may be expensive so that's why I mix it with other juices. I've been distilling for 11 years now and am finally satisfied with mine!! As far as the soap opera goes I think you and I are alot alike. Drink up!

Don, a good handful of yeast usually does the trick and also some honey for the 'bugs' not store bought honey but the real stuff from some old farmer or anyone for that matter who has bees.

Yikes. I geuss It was only a matter of time. Internet fourms have a way of turning negative and unproductive. It's a good thing all of us here only have ,or want to have, 'water distillation' units. Wheeewww!

Dr. X sure sounds like a big meanie!! he must have a miserable life to get on this site and make his first posting a threat and insult to someone he's never met. I love to laugh at those kinds of people because they just don't get it. I have a happy life and who am I to judge another for living the way they choose ?
