"No. An alchometer measures the alcohol percentage in pure spirits. You measure the alcohol percentage in beer and wine by measuring the specific gravity before fermentation and then after, and then subtracting the difference ... then modifying for temperature variation and checking the scale on the side of the hydrometer.
