"hello,

i am new to the forum and am in the process of putting together my first valved reflux stillOhMyGod. i have all the materials but, before i weld it all i was wondering what, if any, consequences may arise if i used some stainless tri clamps to put the bulk of it together. i guess i was thinking it would be easier to conceal several smaller parts instead of on complete still head. has anyone used stainless triclamps to put together a valved reflux still?"

"takes more sill at welding than i have to join copper and stainless. the copper spreads the heat out and the stainless just burns (tig welding).
but as far as using tri clamps, i think they are great and a bunch of tubes with tri clover clamps don't resemble a still, you are right there."
