To Turbo or not...That is the question

"First time poster here at the forums, long time home brewer. I just built my first still and I've been doing a ton of research for the last 2 months. Boy am I glad I didn't jump in head first like I was planning last year, it would have been fail, fail, fail, from the get go ! I'm a little concerned about the suspension with Turbos in my washes and how long they take to settle out. I don't mind waiting as I've been largering beer for almost 20 years now. But I'm afraid I'll have to wait that long for a sugar wash to settle out.. Next batch I think I'll just steep some 6 row with the wash and use champane yeast. Your opinions are appreciated."

I use a straight distillers yeast, but have heard that a lot of people have good luck with just straight bakers yeast. I'm going to try that when I run out of the current yeast. From what I've heard, no one much likes the turbos for distilling. You will need to add some nutrients with the other yeasts, a little DAP & epsom salts does the trick.
