Hey guys,
I'm completely new to home brewing, I'm interested in making vodka cheaply. My friends have lots of parties, and cheap supplies of vodka would be very good. I'm aiming for high percentage yields, in high amounts, as labor and cost efficient as possible. Now I have the equivalent of $410 US to spend, including shipping to Sydney Australia.
I read this book, it's here in html format.
http://www.scribd.com/doc/74206...e-for-Amateur-Distillers Can you guys please read the some of the book so you can understand what I'm trying to do.
I've been researching for days lol.
Here's what I apparently need
Fermenter *I'm going to use two plastic 50L storage containers, they are not airtight, would you be able to smell it in the room?
*I'm going to make the first batch with the pump included for the distiller (it's summer here 25c anyway) or heater, I'll later buy one locally, I'll see how it goes
*Already have a thermometer
Distiller *Essential Extractor PSII High Capacity- complete.
*Alcoholmeter and Hydrometer
1500W hotplate, I just bought this one,
http://www.crazysales.com.au/in....php?productID=1659#desc I'm aiming to make afew litres or 95% ethanol per batch. I don't want any heads or tails in there, fractional distillation needs to get rid of it all.
What have I missed that is nescesery to make the vodka? My thoughts
*Does the cooling system use much water? I don't want to be wasting alot of water here.
*I'm going to need a US to AU adapter for any electrical items
If I buy the hotplate instead of the one here my budget should be okay
