"Just found a 5 gallon corn bucket of corn mash I started a over a month ago in the garage. Let's not debate why or how I forgot it was there. Has had an airlock, not exposed to sun, but exposed to temp swings. Clearly settled out. Reading fully fermented on hydrometer and 0% alcohol.
Still run it???? Just smells of strong alcohol and corn bottom is now dark color not yellow?"

Well I am hooked on the horns of a similar dielemma. I have had some cornmeal flavored sugar wash with bread yeast going for about a month. Its been in total lockdown since about day 4 except for the aquarium hose I routed through the whiskey bottles full of water. This hose starts in the top of the fermenting buckets. For a while I could taste alcohol when I huffed on the hose. Now I cant detect anything. What is a Mother to do? Thanks. I have a feeling it should be run. Now is this hot or warm?

I routinely leave my fermenters to sit for 30 days or more. Have found no probs yet.
