Hi, sorry I am a newbie to distilling, so forgive me if this question sounds strange. I have a question about settling the yeast in the mash. Is it acceptable to use isinglass for sprits? Or is that something left for beers only.

Cavenut asked - 'Is it acceptable to use isinglass for sprits' It is! But why worry, just wait a few more days and the yeast will settle out all on their on. I used isinglass in the beginning because I just couldn't wait to get on with the project. Now I just give the brew a week or so after it quits bubbling to settle on its own.

Guys, Brewhaus has a product called clearing agent which is a two part mix, put one in today and the other tomorrow an it does take everything out, settles it, However, waiting another couple days does the same. I did not in using it that it does take a little of the yeast smell out of the batch, but so does waiting...jimbull
