We are still working on a way to avoid the potential problem, but with no dramatic alteration ,requiring special skills, such as welding,. We appear to have one, but it is more of a change to a design that we had put onto the back burner for the past several months.

This time we are handling all of the testing ourselves! :-,

I cannot understand why someone is so excited about screwing up their system with this conversion that does not work. I have heard about the problems associated with this conversion and if there was a simple solution to fixing the problem I am sure Rick would have already had a fix. I feel the resolution is to find a welder if you have already converted the system and have them repair your system back the way it was and quit trying to do something with a system that is not designed to do something other than what is was designed to do in the first place. Sorry for this post but I hate to see people screwing up their systems with something that does not work.

thank God the world is not full of people like you....theres not a product made that cant be improved on...this includes stills...i believe the conversion kit will work and help make a better spirit....like all new products on the market, sometimes they have to be tweaked a little...time will tell...thanks, scott

Scott, I do not disagree with what you are saying but the history of this new procedure speaks for itself. I also beleive in tweaking items but, I have limited resources and cannot afford to buy a still and cut it up and then try to replace what I just cut up. I have a friend of mine who is a machinist and we are currently looking on how to do this. I am also always looking for ways to improve my product. I hope some design comes forward soon.

Scott,

I was one of the first people to purchase the kit, and I am the one who discovered this problem, so I believe I am the most competant to speak on the issue from a buyer's standpoint.

It has been over a month since I have heard anything about this problem and what can be done to fix it. Initially there was talk of repairing it for me regardless of cost or effort, but a month and then some has gone by with not even so much as a status report. Now it appears the efforts are concentrating on ways to fix the problem for users who have yet to buy the kit, or for those who have it, but have not installed it because of this problem. That's great, but MY still is broken NOW. Not only that, but it has been BENT ,mind you, this was at the behest of Brewhaus in an attempt to fix the problem,, and cannot easily be converted back.

It is true, there are no products that cannot be improved ,especially after the first offering,, but most companies do not release products that do not even work AT ALL, and that is what we have here. Quite simply, and make no bones about it, the conversion kit does NOT work as advertised. Not only that, but it can potentially create a dangerous situation involving the ejection of flammable liquid, at force, from an apparatus heated by a direct, external heat source. I shouldn't need to spell out for you why this is a BAD THING.

That said, and in defense of the company that has, until now, created absolutely fine work and provided excellent service, I was informed that this is the first product was pushed to market based solely on third-party testing, without direct supervision from Rick. I was also informed that Brewhaus would no longer be developing with the individual,s, responsible. Great, but where's the solid customer service to back up this information? Where are the updates? Where's my promised fix?

Lots of good companies make mistakes, but I can't think of a single reputable business that would discover a product was dangerously flawed and not immediately issue a recall and replacement.

Enjoy your working stills, everybody. I'm left here with a bent $500 piece of stainless and no solution in sight.

I do apologize for the delays, but we are working on finding a solution where no special skills or equipment are needed. While we have found a way to achieve this, it results in a system with more involved in operation, which many people do not want.

The problem in testing was that the conversion was supposedly tested with 1500W, to make sure that more vapor than normal was produced, pushing past normal conditions. It worked fine ,no choking, but it turned out that the unit was ultimately tested on the 500W side of a two element hotplate. This is something that would not have happened under our own supervision, hence the reason that we do not want to rely on outside testing a second time. Once bitten...

More work is being done, but ultimately we will make sure that everyone owning a kit is taken care of.
