I was thinking about buying the Essential Extractor PSII and I wanted to make sure i will be able to attatch it to a keg. How do you take the ball bearing out and the shaft? What type of tools do you need?

Hi Whit888, and welcome. I am new to the hobby also but have the answers to your questions. If you buy just the column kit it includes everything you need (you use an O ring instead of the gasket along with the tri-clamp to attach to the keg. And to remove the valve take a look at this link:
http://www.schoepski.com/states/illinois/keg/sankey.htm
There are others also, just google sankey valve removal.

Again welcome, good luck and have fun.

Wade is correct. The HC unit is much faster and cleaner esp. for a keg. But it requires a 2 X 3" reducer. The ps II connects straight to the keg useing an o ring and the triclamp that comes with it.
