I was thinking about buying the Essential Extractor PSII and I wanted to make sure i will be able to attatch it to a keg. How do you take the ball bearing out and the shaft? What type of tools do you need?

How do you take the ball bearing out and the shaft? What type of tools do you need? Hi Whit888, and welcome. I am new to the hobby also but have the answers to your questions. If you buy just the column kit it includes everything you need (you use an O ring instead of the gasket along with the tri-clamp to attach to the keg. And to remove the valve take a look at this link: http://www.schoepski.com/states/illinois/keg/sankey.htmThere are others also, just google sankey valve removal. Again welcome, good luck and have fun. Tod"

Wade is correct. The HC unit is much faster and cleaner esp. for a keg. But it requires a 2 X 3" reducer. The ps II connects straight to the keg useing an o ring and the triclamp that comes with it.
