"well ,I got in touch with the guy that sold me the still and he claims that the glass is perfectly safe (lol) .cliams he sold 100's and never had any trouble or complaints. He did get a bit nasty when I told him guys on a forum said it was a fire hazard. I think I bought it from the wrong place ,I was suposed to get a filter with carbon with my order ,never got it , was suposed to get some yeast never got it , then I asked how much copper packing I should have gotten and he said 4-5 pieces well there is only one with my order and he claims I am wrong but I just looked for the 3rd time . I ordered a fermenter from him at the same time and it turned out to be a dirty used dr pepper plastic drum with dirt and grease all over it ,he claimed that it is xmas time and they dont have time to take care of all the stuff and said sorry . I think I got ripped off by this guy .I am gonna try the still when I get the packing and everything I was suposed to get then take it from there.thanks again for the help

"Sorry Catfish, Wish you had posted your intentions of getting one of these before you did. There was much discussion on this outfit in artisan distillers forum. They have been shut down on ebay several times but open under a new ownership. Many ordered from them, got charged but never received anything. Your service sounds pretty typical.

If you bought it from a local dealer, I would at the least report to better business beurea sp. Or demand your money back else you could take it to small claims court. Its not illegal to own that pretty hat rack or essential oil distiller. Plain theft!"

"If you don't get any satisfaction,, at least you can mod that thing for parts and such. I'd cut that thumper off and install a union to join your liebig to the lyne arm.
With that bigger boiler you will be better off just double running any way. With a full boiler charge,your likely to stop your run twice to prevent that small thumper from flooding (if it doesn't break first).

Did not mean to be a party pooper catfish. But I think you can already see where the collective wisdom is going with your unit evaluation.

well I ran my first ever wash and it made some good shine ,I think it came out better than I thought it would for my first time ,it had a slight off taste at first then I ran it through some carbon and it lost it .I now have 7 liters of shine ranging from 95- 130 proof and a couple liters of cherry brandy at 60 proof, thank you all for your help.I couldnt have done it w/o it
