Has anyone tried to re-use or harvest yeast from an old wash to use on a new one? I do it with beer, but am curious if anyone has done it with a sugar mash. I don't want to waste my time if it doesn't work.

In fact thats a requisite technique for lots of proper rum and sour mash recipes."

I assume that nutrients must be added. Is that right?

I recon the recycling started out of nessesity more than anything. Then folks just got partial to the flavor profile. Or not. What the heck do I know "

I'm planning on dumping a new batch on top of the yeast in the bucket.
