I found that I can just use a plastic water bottle for a filter. I drill a hole in the cap and cut the bottom off the bottle. place a little cotton,gauze or filter paper into the neck after the cap is in place from the bottom. I then put the bottle in a glass vase that i have that fits the neck of the vase just right to hold it upright. (I feel the bottle with my well boiled and riansed carbon first.)with the carbon still wet i pour in my spirits and the flow through into the glass vase. I only make rum or grain spirits,so i use coconut carbon not stone carbon. so far all has worked out well for me. did not have to go out and buy any filter or buy pvc pipe for a filter. i just get a new bottle for my next batch if its going to be a while before i get the chance to do a new run.
