I started a Rye mash on Saturday and it bubbling away like crazy. This morning, I noticed a "sulfur" type odor coming from the air lock on the fermenter. Is this a normal odor for a rye mash?
Thanks for any help!

I should add that I am using Red Star Champagne yeast, which works very well with my corn and sweet feed mashes.

In homebrewing, sulfur smells are common and normal unless they don't go away.

Highlander do you mind if i ask what your recipe is using the rye and did you mill the rye or what?
