I have been brewing beer and making meads for years now, and been curious about distilling. So iv'e been lurcking here and some other forums doing research for a few months now. This seemed to be the friendliest forum i've came across so I would say hi and ask a question. So I pulled the trigger and ordered a PSII last week, got the 1in npt added to the boiler, ferrule added to top of column to get rid of the rubber bung, and got an extended liebig condenser. I got the parts to make my controller on the way. I'm torn on what size element for the 8 gallon boiler. I'm set up for 220v leaning towards a 3500w ULD. Any recommendations to what size element would be best for this set up?

That's great experience to have. I may be bothering you with questions about beer/mead from time to time!

This is by far the friendliest forum that I've found as well ... a great group of true gentlemen and ladies here that are very helpful and patient.

Best Regards,
