Hi Deb from Texas here. I am new to brewing. I have only been at it for 6 months. I started out with boiler pot, thumper and worm. I couldn't get much more then 120-122 proof. Good flavor after ageing, but we are more Gin drinkers. It seems you just can't get a good Gin in a pot still, hence my upgrade to a reflux. It's on back order and won't get here until later this month. Does any one have any pointers for a "newbee" like me.

I am here in Ky. VERY new to distilling and have a ton of questions. Hopefully I'm in the right place..i have a small 3.5 gallon pot still and I'm having a really hard time getting my recipe down. I'm horrible at math and can't get my measurements correct. Ran 3 batches so far and they all taste awful. Hope there's a hero in here to save my new hobby!

Welcome to the rabbit hole hobby. First off, the still is a little small for making good cuts, possible just not easy. Give me some info on what you are making , type burner and a run down on your process then may be able to give some help. Stay safe and happy Stillin.
