Apollo, Bakeing soda is great for an already stripped run for neutral spirits. Never use it with a fresh unstripped wash. The non-iodized salt works to help define the cuts sharply. For a flavored brandy etc. I would not use them as you will want a little more flavor with your neutral hearts. You may want to take your heads and tails off in small increments, numbered, so as to be able to add a little back to the hearts as per your taste, and smell.
